About me

Welcome to Mrs. Gurrola's webpage!
I have been a high school math teacher for 12 years.  My first year was at Estacado High, and I have taught at Roosevelt High since then.  I joined the Roosevelt High Special Ed. team nine years ago.  I teach the specialized support high school math classes, and provide inclusion support in the classroom wherever needed, but primarily in the Science classes.
I am also the UIL Academic Coordinator for High School.  This includes coaching the Mathematics, Number Sense, and Calculator Applications teams.
I graduated from University of New Orleans with a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.  I worked at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin in their superconducting magnet research/design group for 12 years, before moving to Lubbock.

My husband, Harold, is a Geophysics professor at Texas Tech.  We have raised 4 children:  Our two oldest daughters are enjoying their babies (4 grandchildren), our son is working on his Masters in Music Composition degree in Tampa Florida,(a Texas Tech graduate) and our youngest is in 9th grade at Lubbock High School studying orchestra.

It is my honor to teach and work with your student at Roosevelt ISD. If I can ever be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me!
